Belhaven
I grew up close to Belhaven Beach, and it’s somewhere I still visit often. Whether it’s damp and dreich, cold and blustery, or radiant with late summer sun and wildflowers, it holds firm to its title as one of my favourite places in the whole world. We’ve got a history together, and walking through the sandy dunes feels like home. That’s how this sweater feels to me; warm, rustic, and well-worn, exactly what I want to tuck myself up in for ultimate comfort.
GAUGE
20 stitches x 28 rows per 10 cm / 4" with 4 mm [US 6] needles in Stockinette Stitch, after blocking.

Sample was knit in Stolen Stitches Blasta DK (60% Fine Irish, 40% New Zealand Lambswool, 212 m / 232 yds per 100 g) in the colourway Liath.

CONSTRUCTION
The Belhaven hoodie is a top-down cardigan with a hood. It is started from the top of the hood and worked downwards. The yoke starts with short rows and then is knit with raglan increases. The hood and front is finished with a continuous button band. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armhole, and sleeves are worked in the round.

20 stitches x 28 rows per 10 cm / 4" with 4 mm [US 6] needles in Stockinette Stitch, after blocking.
