Tydes Sweater and Cardigan

£7.00

Tydes is a bottom-up, relaxed fit sweater and cardigan worked in a modified Feather and Fan lace pattern to create a wavy striped pattern. Worked in a fluffy yarn, it knits up into a cosy, light, and easy-wearing garment.

You can work the stripes with any frequency you like, giving options for thick or thin stripes. The yardage given is for 2 colours, but you could work this in as many colours as you like.

Purchasing this pattern will give you access to two downloads: a sweater pattern and a cardigan pattern.

Sizes

1 (2, 3, 4) [5, 6, 7, 8]

Finished Chest Measurement

84.5 (99, 113, 127) [141, 155.5, 169.5, 183.5] cm/33.25 (39, 44.5, 50, 55.5) (61.25, 66.75, 72.25) inches

8-15 cm/3-6 inches of positive ease is recommended, meaning you should pick a size that is 8-15 cm/3-6 inches larger than your chest measurement.

Yarn and Yardage

The sweater sample was knit in Sandnes Garn Børstet Alpakka (Brushed Alpaca). The cardigan was knit in Kaos Organic Brushed Alpaca, held double. Any yarn that gets gauge can be used for this pattern. Some suggestions from the test knit include Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk, BC Garn Loch Lomond held with mohair, CaMaRose Snefnug, Lion Brand Wool-Ease. The fluffier yarns make this a lighter, airy garment but using denser yarns will work well too.

Main Colour (used for stripes + ribbing detail): 400 (456, 510, 566) (636, 689, 785, 799) meters/ 437 (497, 556, 617) (682, 751, 823, 871) yards

Secondary Colour: 300 (331, 370, 410) (454, 500, 548, 580) meters / 328 (361, 404, 447) (495, 545, 597, 632) yards

K2tog - Knit two together

Picking up sleeve/buttonband stitches

Grafting (formerly known as kitchener stitch) OR three needle bind off (either can be used)

The pattern also has a specifically made video to support with working decreases in pattern.
