CORRYVRECKAN
Corryvreckan (Coire Bhreacain) is the name of a whirlpool found off the west coast of Scotland. It’s said that Cailleach Bheur, Goddess of Winter, uses the whirlpool as her washing basin to clean her huge shawl. It takes three days to clean and, when done, she drapes the large swathe of white fabric over the land to dry. This shawl becomes the first snowfall of the year.

50 g) in the colourways 1012, 1099, and 4219.

CONSTRUCTION
The sweater is worked from the top down.
The back is worked and shaped with short rows. Stitches for the fronts are picked up along the shoulders and also worked with short rows to line the stripes up along the shoulder. The body and sleeves are worked in the round. The collar, hem, and cuffs are all finished with a flash of colour.

18 stitches x 24 rows per 10 cm / 4" with 4.5 mm [US 7] needles in Stockinette Stitch, after blocking.
NEEDLE SIZES
4.5 mm [US 7] for body and sleeves, 4 mm [US 6] for collar, button band, hem, and cuffs.
